The scenic Valmorel resort at 1400 m above sea level is a custom-made mountain village, yet retains the atmosphere of a typical alpine settlement. The small hamlets on the slopes form the cozy Valmorel resort complex. Visitors will have access to 162 km of ski runs. Moreover, Valmorel is well connected to the nearby resort of St. Francois. The pistes are served by 50 lifts, most of which are chair lifts. Skiers can take advantage of 28 green, 32 blue, 15 red and 8 black runs. Valmorel is a very suitable place to learn the craft of snowboarding. There is a gentle slope for beginners with smooth runs, a half-pipe, a basic snow park and an excellent cross-type course.
