St Colomban des Villards is one of those precious mountain spots that have preserved the natural beauty of the mountain in all of its aspects – picturesque scenery, intact freshness and oldtime traditions. The people, as the village, have been living at the pace of the present bringing their most valuable heritage along the way. The village is located halfway up from the Glandon pass in the heart of the lovely Maurienne Valley. It is mainly composed of hamlets and typical Savoyard houses amazingly set in rows one right next to the other. The resort enjoys calm and virgin atmosphere while at the same time it has prepared a lot of fun and amusement for families and the little ones.

At the altitude of 1150 m above sea level, snow cover is generally reliable. The skiing area of the resort is serviced by 6 lifts and the highest one takes you up to 2300 m of altitude. There are only 12 runs, but still variety is offered in a way to cater for all ability skiers. The resort is excellent for beginners, being in fact one of the best places to initiate. Intermediates and experienced skiers can enjoy the red and blues and try the challenging black run. The overall skiing area spreads on 45 km. Combine skiing with contemplating the charms of this unique spot – 15 km of cross country tracks totally at your disposal.

The myriad of activities offered include outdoor walks, where you can enjoy the spectacular Arvan-Villard and Belledonne mountains, tennis, table tennis, petanque, fishing, swimming, mountain biking, horseback riding, climbing wall, paragliding. Tourists are also recommended a visit to the Agorespace, the multi-sports grounds of the resort. And some more – lots of fun at the lake located at just 50 m from the village. Apres-ski is calm but cheerful. There are two restaurants to enchant you with the magic of regional specialties. The resort will introduce you to the inner and true Savoy that one could not forget ever after.
