Pralognan-la-Vanoise is one of the oldest Savoyard villages in the French Alps and a holiday resort with long traditions in tourism. Winter activities
Skiing is one of the first sports that arrived to Pralognan and slope the village hosted the first ski race on the Barioz in 1904. Moreover, facilities providing artificial snow are also available. A variety of pistes is adapted to suit all kind of abilities: the best areas for beginners are Mont-Bochor and the slopes of Barioz and Poucet, while advanced skiers can try out the slopes crossing the forest and the professionals will enjoy the powdery snow and corridors in Pariettes Coomb. Snow shoeing on the majority of routes will disclose before you a splendid panorama to the spectacular surroundings. Winter is the right time to have fun on the Olympic Ice Rink, which has been built yet in 1930 and represents various amusing events: figure skating shows, curling demonstrations, etc.

Summer activities
The Vanoise National Park is a very attractive place also in summer with all the alpine pastures, alternating hills and rare animals such as chamois and ibex. Pralognan-la-Vanoise boasts the first hiking site in the Savoie region, offering some of the most popular trails (e.g. GR5 and GR55) and refuges (like the Félix Faure refuge and others). Some of the itineraries require more than a day to reach the target, so you can spend a night at an alpine chalet or a refuge. Additionally, there are via ferrata routes and great opportunities for rock climbing to satisfy the passion of the climbers looking for the new adventures.
