Plagne Center was built in the 1960s with the aim to offer doorstep skiing in a high-elevation area. At the time this resort was the first of its kind. Located at an altitude of 1970 m, it is the quintessential French resort village. Plagne Center is the center of La Plagne, the biggest ski region in Europe. Two hotels, a myriad of shops and apartments, and a dozen restaurants are linked via subterranean passageways, assuring a maximum degree of comfort and convenience. The resort offers access to 225 km of pistes, a snowboard park, and 123 runs. Most of them are suitable for intermediates, but there are also some for experts and beginners.
