Montchavin - Les Coches
Montchavin and Les Coches are two separate villages grouped into one resort area in the Tarentaise range of the Savoie department in the Northern French Alps. The resort lies on the outskirts of Vanoise National Park and borders with the vast La Plagne ski domain with a panoramic view of Mont Blanc. Montchavin is a traditional village with charming wooden chalets and narrow streets, while Les Coches is more modern, yet retains the charm of mountain architecture, and offers a friendly, welcoming environment. The two villages are located at elevations of 1250m and 1450m respectively.

Visitors to Montchavin Les Coches will have access to both La Plagne and Paradiski ski areas. La Plagne offers 220 km of runs, a vertical drop of 2000 m (1,250 m to 3,250 m), and 108 lifts. The Montchavin les Coches lift pass allows skiers to ski in all the areas in immediate proximity to the resort. Montchavin Les Coches contributes some of the best runs to La Plagne. It is also the site of one of the stations of the Vanoise Express, which connects La Plagne to Les Arcs, thereby forming the Paradiski.

Montchavin Les Coches has 79 blue runs, 34 red runs, 11 green runs and 10 black runs. It offers gondolas, cable lifts, chairlifts, plate lifts, and other surface lifts. The highest station is at 3250 m, and the base – at 1250m. It is a year-round travel destination. This area has 425 km of slopes set at an altitude from 1250 m to 3250 m. The ski area of Montchavin Les Coches is comprised of 25 km of slopes. Many activities and apres-ski options are possible here. The resort has a cinema, nightclubs, bars, diners, an Olympic bob sleigh run, archery, a swimming pool, an ice skating rink, and facilities for snowshoeing and white water rafting. There are several clubs for children.
