Les Houches is situated just 5 kilometers from Chamonix and very close to the most famous and highest mountain of the Alps - Mont-Blanc (4807 m). Les Houches is not part of the "Cham Ski" pass, it is part of the "Ski pass Mont-Blanc" which is more expensive, but covers over 12 ski areas and 700 km of trails. It is home of the "Kandahar" downhill race. Les Houches is situated low down the Chamonix valley and the other resorts here lie higher up. It gives a very good vertical drop of 900m and offers very nice panoramic views on the other side of the Mont Blanc and on the valley from Geneva to Chamonix. The main advantage of Les Houches is that it is located mainly around and below the tree line, that means that even in bad weather conditions, it is still possible to ski and not get lost.

Situated at the foot of Mont-Blanc Les Houches skiing domaine has no equal. Skiing here combines long trails through pine forests within view of the beautiful peaks of the Aiguilles de Chamonix. Of course, nobody will be surprised that the resort is host for many regular international events and training camp for the French National Ski Team.

By themselves or with the help of local ski schools, skiers will discover a varied choice of pistes for: cross-country, downhill, surf, telemark or ski-jumping. If you want to enjoy the different mountain activities such as off-piste, you need to hire a mountain guide. In Servoz area you can walk in the mountain for a show-shoeing outing or discover the heritage of Les Houches, or visit the local hamlets or take a walk at the banks of the river Arve.

The domain of Les Houches extends from 950m to 1900m. From the summit you will have a spectacular view of the massive of Mont-Blanc. And with pistes winding through the forests, you will discover the real pleasures of skiing: 1 international black run, 12 reds, 5 blues and 4 greens. It is equipped with :1 cable car;1 bubble lift ;4 chair lifts ;12 drag lifts. The ski bus is free to lift pass holders.

The international black run 'La verte' is well known on the World Cup circuit. In contrast to the neighbouring ski areas, Les Houches area offers a tempting number of Savoyarde character restaurants. They are perfect for enjoying the views, or roasting in the sun, or making exercises in the open air. Les Houches ski area is independent of the Chamonix Ski Company, so it remains comparably quiet during busy periods – you can not see queues at the lift stations.
