Les Gets is located at 1200 m above sea level, between Lake Geneva and Mont-Blanc. It is part of the vast ski area Portes du Soleil, which extends as far as the border between France and Switzerland. Historically a dairy-farm village, this settlement dates back to the 1100s. It features marvelous Savoyard chalets and modern buildings side-by-side, all blending in beautifully with the alpine setting. The two lively main streets ensure a lot of fun and excitement. The village shares 650 km of runs with the resorts of Chatel and Avoriaz. It has some gentle slopes for beginners and early intermediates. The slopes of Mont-Chéry, located at the other side of the resort, are suitable for advanced skiers.
