Located in close proximity of the famous Courchevel, the resort of La Tania is an excellent resort for those wishing to stay at the Three valleys (Trois Vallées) without paying high prices. The friendly resort was built for the 1992 Winter Olympic Games and became a favourite destination. Is situated at an altitude of 1350 metres on the road that runs between Courchevel 1300 (Le Praz) and Méribel. La Tania links up the Courchevel sector (Three valleys) thanks to one gondola that runs up to Praz-Juget (1867m). From there chairlifts take
you to the Col de la Loze (2274m), from where you can ski down into Meribel, or go to Loze (2196m) and Chenus (2243m), from both of which you can ski down into ski terrain of Courchevel 1850. There are 4 airports within two hours drive, so ski weekends, snowboard breaks or skiing holidays to La Tania are perfectly feasible. Chambery Airport is just one hours drive in good driving conditions.
This is a real “ski from the door” resort, witch offers high quality accommodation, situated right on the slopes. La Tania embodies a modern, traffic free village with ski shops, cafes, bars and restaurants at the side of the piste. A lift from the centre of La Tania carry you up to the wood above the resort where a collection of private chalets are huddling up among the pine forests.
The resort has access to 150 km of piste: 49 Green, 93 Blues, 108 Red and 36 Black. Long lift-system : 67 lifts.
Beginner skiers will like the nursery slopes, right in the heart of the resort, in the sun with a free drag lift.
Intermediate skiers will take the longer drag lift or gondola, or a chairlift up into the main Courchevel ski area.
Advanced skiers could explore all areas of the Courchevel valley, and the entire Three valleys ski area. There are extensive red and black runs. For freestyle skiers there is a terrain park and half-pipe (Courchevel 1850).
Boarders will find plenty of terrain to have fun, the terrain park and the Courchevel 1850 half-pipe,or the options in Meribel and Mottaret. The Courchevel valley is well adapted for snowboarders and plenty of off-piste can to be found.
