The resort Arc 1950 has not been completed yet. It is awaiting completion in 2008, and when that happens, it will be the highest-class resort in Les Arcs. Nicknamed Planete Bien-Etre, it offers luxury 4-star hotels, other types of prestigious accommodations, and even a Radisson SAS hotel. Developments in the resort are being made by Intrawest, a Canadian construction company. Arc 1950 combines a friendly, welcoming atmosphere with an elegant setting. It remains in essence a traditional alpine village.
Visitors have direct
access to the Paradiski ski region, which is among the biggest in the world with 400 km of pistes, two peaks at over 3000 m, and two glaciers for the most adventurous skiers. This ski domain is sure to satisfy skiers of all levels and ages. All the slopes are excellently maintained, regardless of whether they are marked runs, glacier runs, or off-piste. A great possibility in Arc 1950 is walking – the village lies amid a centennial pine forest at the foot of a 60-m waterfall. It offers panoramic views of the highest mountain in Europe, Mont Blanc.
Arc 1950 has a great apres-ski scene with bars, restaurants, shops, spas, swimming pools, and more. It has its own ski school and ski rental shops. Upon completion the village will have 800 flats, from studios to four-bedroom apartments. It also features charming, typical Savoyard architecture. Arc 1950 is a decidedly international resort. A little less than half the visitors come from abroad, and everyone speaks English.
