Arc 1600, named after its elevation at 1600 m, is a resort area in Les Arcs. The ski region consists of five areas – Arc 1600, Arc 1800, Arc 1950, Arc 2000, and Bourg St. Maurice. Les Arcs is situated in Savoie, France, near the town of Bourg St. Maurice. It became part of the famous Paradiski resort group after the Vanoise Express Cable car was launched in late 2003. Skiing is possible above 1200 m in Les Arcs, although some of the resorts are situated at a lower altitude. There are 200 km of downhill slopes in Les Arcs.
Arc
1600 is the lowest of the resorts and the first one built in Les Arcs. It is also known as Arc Pierre Blanche, named after the active founder of Les Arcs, who was also a well known mountain guide. Today Arc 1600 has 30 shops, conference rooms, and hotels to offer travelers. The Arc en Ciel funicular connects this pedestrian resort to Bourg St. Maurice, where you can do some apres-ski activities and shopping. The travel time is around 7 minutes. There are also two intermediate stations serving Les Granges and Montrigron villages. There are regular lifts and free shuttles connecting the five resort areas.
Arc 1600 is an excellent family destination with plenty of activities for children, including a children's club. It can get pretty crowded during the day, but at night it is quite peaceful.The accommodation base consists of 4 190 beds. It has a cinema with two screens and an amphitheater, which, with its 90 seats, offers an excellent venue for conferences. As for apres-ski there is a nightclub, some bars and restaurants. As for sports, skiers and boarders are ensured optimal conditions. The highest lift reaches to an altitude of 3 226 m. The longest piste has a length of 7 km. There are 121 runs in total, of which 17 are for experienced skies, 95 for intermediates, and 10 for beginners. The lift network consists of 62 lifts, and there is a snow park.
