Font Romeu interweaves history, culture and spectacular mountain setting and has created a popular image among the other French resorts. Winter activities
With a single ski pass you can enjoy the vast arena Font-Romeu-Pyrénées 2000 for downhill skiing, the 54 km of excellent runs and 111 km of cross-country skiing trails. The area boasts one of the biggest terrains of artificial snow skiing in the whole Europe. 21 lifts provide a direct access from the village to the foot of the pistes, where 9 green, 9 blue, 8 red and 8 black runs cater for the skiers’ delight. Snowboarding fans will have at disposal a huge snow park with numerous attractions; those that adore exploring the mountains in winter will be able to take an exciting tour on the snowshoeing and Nordic trails. There are E.S.F. and E.S.I. ski schools for children and beginners, as well as wonderful après-ski opportunities – restaurants, high altitude bars and heated picnic rooms.
Summer activities
Once the summer enters into Font Romeu, there comes the time for outdoor activities and lots of fun under the sun. Numerous hiking routes invite you to attack the mountain trails and train your abilities until you reach up the beautiful meadows and impressive summits rise before you. Rock climbing and mountain biking are the other sports you can think about, since the itineraries are really worth it. Non-active visitors can spend their leisure time at the horse riding club, golf and mini-golf club, exercising kite surf, squash or tennis. Or just unwind at the sauna of a wellness centre and forget about it all.
